Topic: read analog value

Hi Konstantin,

Probably just a simple question but i can't find a good start of the answer within the docs or the forum.

Purpose for this is that we are reading data from the can bus . If the data exceeds a certain value the output needs to be triggered.
As this value depends on the needs of the operator, the operator can adjust the analog value (potentiometer).
The value given by this potentiometer needs to be read by the Canny7.0.

Is it possible to read an analog value (0-10v) from a potentiometer ?

Re: read analog value

Unlike a CANNY 7.2 Duo, a CANNY 7 does not have a Analog To Digital converter: https://cannylogic.com/docs/c72duo/adc/

So you can measure the load resistance by measuring the discharge time of an external capacitor of known capacity on it (see attachments) However, in this case, the controller power supply must be stabilized.

Or you need to use an external ADC IC or a module with a CANNY 7 compatible interface.

Some external ADC ICs that can be used with CANNY 7:

MCP9808 via I2C driver
DS2450 via Dallas 1-wire driver
AD7740 via PWM/HF-PWM output and counter input
